The Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Long Course is a two-year training program for regular commission officers of the Pakistan Army. The course is designed to develop cadets into competent and confident leaders who are capable of commanding and leading troops in combat.
The PMA Long Course covers a wide range of subjects, including:
- Military history and traditions
- Military law
- Tactics and weapons
- Leadership and management
- Physical fitness
- Physical training
- Military engineering
- Military communications
- Military intelligence
Cadets also receive training in a variety of sports and extracurricular activities.
At the end of the PMA Long Course, cadets are commissioned as Second Lieutenants in the Pakistan Army. They are then assigned to various units and formations where they begin their careers as officers.

To be eligible for the PMA Long Course, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Be a Pakistani citizen
- Be between the ages of 17 and 22
- Have a minimum of 55% marks in intermediate (or equivalent) exams
- Be physically fit
- Be mentally and emotionally mature
- Be of good character
Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements must then pass a series of tests, including the ISSB test and the PMA entrance exam.
The PMA Long Course is a highly competitive program, and only the most qualified candidates are selected. The course is designed to produce leaders who are capable of defending Pakistan and its interests.
