Eligibility Criteria for Honjo Foundation Scholarship 2025 in Japan:
- The scholarship is open to all international students from all countries except those holding Japanese citizenship.
- To be eligible for the Honjo International Scholarship Foundation, the applicant should be enrolled or intending to enroll in a graduate program in Japan, with the academic course starting in April 2025.
- Moreover, both current students and those not yet enrolled (including employed individuals) are eligible to apply if they plan to enroll in April 2025. Students who are going to enter graduate schools in fall 2025, can apply for the spring scholarship.
- Generally, students enrolling in a professional graduate school are not eligible, but those who can present a research plan can apply.
- For PhD program applicants, the age limit is 35 years. For master’s program applicants, the age limit is 30 years.
- Similarly, applicants should strongly intend to contribute to their home country after graduation.
- Demonstrated understanding of international friendship and goodwill. Participation in foundation events and alumni networks is also expected.
